I bought Vista Ultimate 64bit for my home computer that I built. Vista was installed and activated. After a few months, the motherboard failed and I replaced it with a new one. I had to reinstall Vista, but now it will not activate because the product key has already been activated. My computer will stop working in 7 days unless it is activated.
I talked to a customer service rep who said I need to pay $59 for tech support to issue a new product key. I already spent hundreds of dollars on Vista and all I want to do is install Vista on my PC.
Is it true that I have to pay more money to get my copy of Vista to work or was I talking to the wrong person?
