Synctoy overwrites old document versions in Sharepoint RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I'm not sure why this is a Synctoy problem, because the document versioning is clearly done by Sharepoint.

However, when syncing with a sharepoint site, if overwriting a sharepoint doc with a newer, local version, it will create a complete new document in Sharepoint with zero old versions, meaning all old versions are LOST. The old document objects are found in the recycle bin of the Sharepoint site, so it seems synctoy is acutally not overwriting, but deleting and creating a new file.

That's completely unacceptable because it deprives Sharepoint of a major function of a document management.

Is there any setting in synctoy to avoid this odd behaviour??

    Thanks

    Kerry.
