  • Hello Dnala688,

Your Diagnostic Report indicates that Windows 7 is not Activated and that is why you are receiving the notification.

There should be a icon in the Task Bar that prompts you to Activate (make sure to use the Activate by Phone method).  If you are not seeing any prompts to Activate, the alternate steps to launch the Activation Wizard are to click the Start button, and type slui 4 in the search field and then press the "Enter" key. This will bring up the Activate by Phone Wizard. Follow the steps provided by the Wizard. The phone activation process should only take about 5 minutes.

Normally this would be the end of my post.  However, your Diagnostic Report isn't giving me all the normal signs that this is purely a simple 'Not Activated' issue.  So, just in case the above doesn't resolve your issue, it could be that there is a Licensing Store issue of some sort.  Follow the below steps to recreate the Licensing Store.

    1) Open an Internet Browser
    2) Type: %windir%\system32 into the browser address bar.
    3) Find the file CMD.exe
    4) Right-Click on CMD.exe and select 'Run as Administrator'
    5) Type: net stop sppsvc  (it may ask you if you are sure, select yes)
    6) Type: cd %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareProtectionPlatform
    7) Type: rename tokens.dat tokens.bar
    8) Type: slui
    9) After a couple of seconds Windows Activation dialog will appear. You may be asked to re-activate and/or re-enter your product key.  (again, be sure to use the Activate by Phone method)

    Thank you,
    Darin MS

  • I figured out how to fix this problem.  Click on your windows search engine and type the word Activate.  You will find an icon for windows activate that you need to click on.   Select that.
