  • Question

  • Is there a way of changing the password at the initial screen?

Can one get into the program if the password is forgotten?

A search of the Help pages doesn't seem to deal with these questions at all. If one were to forget their password, (which I haven't), the only option seems to be to uninstall, re-install and start a new set of files, thus losing all past history.

  • For US Money Plus Deluxe, once you are logged in to your Money file you can change passwords with File>Password Manager.  Other versions have a similar facility.  Money allows either a Windows Live ID password or a Money password, but you should only use a Money password because Money no longer connects to the Live ID servers.

You always need your password to access your money file.  Do not loose it!  There are services that claim to be able to recover Money passwords, but they just automate the process of trying different guesses.  Unless you have a simple password they could take a very long time.

  • Thank you! So simple. I've never noticed Password Manager in Files before. You'd think there would be a section on passwords in the Help section, but there doesn't seem to be anything.

I don't intend forgetting it, that's for sure. I wanted to change it to something a bit more formidable, hence my question.
