How did you reinstall? If you used the manufacturer’s Recovery disks, then you should not need to activate – if you used a Retail disk, then you may have to activate by phone.

To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool (download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
    Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.

  • How to Activate Windows 7:

Go to http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/activate-windows-7-on-this-computer and then scroll down and follow the steps in section "Activate using the Internet".

If for some reason, that does not work (get an error or so on) scroll down and follow the steps in section "Activate using the telephone".

If neither of these work, please follow the directions in Noel's post to provide us a Diagnostic Report so we can figure out the issue.

    Thank you,
