using UMDH tool with VB6 application to detect memory leak RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am using a VB6 application which in turn has references to many dll's(including vb dll's and c++ dll's). This application is hosted by another frame application in order to run.One of the major components in this VB application is leaking memory when i keep on running the frame application for long time. I have tried using the microsoft UMDH (user-mode dump heap) utility tool to detect the memory leakage. This tool can be used to generate log files which inturn shows the functions which leaks memory. But i am not able to get expected results i.e I am not able to see such function names . This may be because the leaky functions are present in the dlls and UMDH is unable to dig into them.

Can anyone please give me some other suitable ideas which can help me out or some other tools which can help me.

Has anyone used this UMDH tool in such situations?
