Sheng Jiang's split is the official one.
However the split isn't quite so clear-cut especially between MSDN and TechNet so you ought to go to the top-level site for each of these different areas and look at which forums are included in them.
Search Server 2008 Express is for example a product used by IT administrators but it is not in TechNet but only in MSDN.
The SharePoint products (except one!) are in both TechNet and MSDN.
There are many such anomilies so in order to find a particular forum, look first for it in one set; then another set until you find it.
FAQ sites: (SP 2010) http://wssv4faq.mindsharp.com; (v3) http://wssv3faq.mindsharp.com and (WSS 2.0) http://wssv2faq.mindsharp.com
