Add and Remove Programs via the Control Panel

  I've uninstalled about six programs using the uninstall option listed under the program headers from the Programs List.  I know these programs are no longer on my computer, however, when I go to the uninstall or change option in the control panel and the list is populated, all six of those programs show up.  How do I remove them from this list?
