  • Hey Gerisauter,

I looked at the website you provided and you did purchase what looks to be a non-genuine copy of windows following things dont look right.

When I google the key its all over the web please click on google. Your key is everywhere so I would suggest contacting the micrsoft piracy department.
There are three ways to report piracy.
    Method 1: E-mail piracy@microsoft.com.
Method 2: Call the Microsoft Anti-Piracy Hotline at (800) RU-LEGIT.
Method 3: Fill out an online reporting form.

Let them know that you paid 90 dollars for office and also i would contact your creditcard and see if they can reinburse you for puchasing counterfit software.

I hope this helps and good luck to you.

  • Hallo guys

I chose Method 3 and I contacted the seller for a new key or a refund.

Let's see how this will work.

  • Hello gerisauter,

You did not post the full mgadiag report, but I have a feeling that, if you also received Visio from them, then it, too, is nongenuine as it is most likely also a volume licensing edition of Visio, which should not be sold to individual conusmers such as yourself.

Please make every effort via your payment method to get a chargeback or refund for the money you spent, as it did not purchase genuine software.

Microsoft does have an effective program to provide complimnetary replacement software for those who purchase counterfeit Microsoft software, but this program only applies to those who purchase software on counterfeit discs.

  • Hello Dan

I've got visio as you mentioned, but it is genuine. Therefore I didn't included that part. Actually I could download it for free because I'm - even at my age - a Masterstudent at the Graduate School of Business in St. Gallen.

However, I ran the test again and mail you the complete report.

  • Hello gerisauter,

The full mgadiag report that you posted is showing that you Visio Professional 2007 is a Genuine retail license, so no worries there.

If you are a registered student at a University, you would most likely qualify for the Office "Ultimate Steal Deal."
Your report indicates that your Windows installation is in German, so here is the link for the German language page for the "Ultimate Steal Deal."  http://www.microsoft.com/student/discounts/daswahreoffice/default.aspx

Office Ultimate Edition 2007 has almost the same programs as does Office Enterprise 2007.

  • Hello Dan

I should have chosen your suggestion in the first place and all that hassle wouldn't have occurred.

In the meantime I downloaded office 2010 beta - from your webpage!!! - and I will get the genuine version in Juli.

While you are doing a great job even on Saturdays, the piracy-provider sent an automated response. I wonder, how that will develop.

Lessons learned: First, I have to be careful concerning providers, second, microsoft can be a great company, if people know about its staff. Finally, there are for students really affordable - but little popularized - deals.

    All the best,
    Geri Sauter

P.S.: Office Ultimate 2007 will remain - and: closely watched - in my pipline. So, I'll get out of the woods whatever will happen ;-)
