I assume that "NOT DETAILED" is what it is supposed to be set as? Let me ask you, am I totally hosed? Do I have to wipe my HD and start all over? I would rather not do that, but I am feeling very discouraged about now :(

You may have to do an In-Place Upgrade (MS-speak for a repair install) - but a clean install shouldn't be necessary.I assume that since you bought the kit from MS, that you have a normal MS Install pack - but is it an Upgrade, or a Full Install?I think I've done about as much as I can here in the forum - Your best options now are either1) post in the Answers forums about doing a repair install of Win7 - they are a lot more experienced in that than I am.or2) Contact WGA Support for assistance in ironing out the file mismatches and plugging in your new Key (it should be free)North America: http://support.microsoft.com/contactus/cu_sc_genadv_master?ws=support&ws=support#tab4

It looks like you've used RemoveWAT?If so, the run the program again, and this time click on RestoreWAT - this will revert the changes made. You should then be able to change the Product Key using any of the normal methods/

Hi Noel,
Thank you so much for the reply. I did run the RestoreWAT and my system rebooted. I went to activate and or change my product key but was met by the following slui.exe application error: THE APPLICATION WAS UNABLE TO START CORRECTLY (0XC000022). I want to do right by MS but I can not get there yet.

Ah well, so much for that bright idea, no changes :(Try an alternative here....It's not precisely in line, but it may have some effect - again, once complete, run another MGADiag report.

So I tried my best to follow the instructions on the link you provided but noticed that all of the profiles in my System Security folder are listed as "NOT DETAILED" .

Hey Guys,
I was wondering. Will MS send me a new OS DVD of Windows 7 Ultimate after I just purchased the new genuine product key on line? It has been a week and I have not received the install DVD yet. I am a little anxious, can you tell? :) Thanks again for all your help!!

Assuming you opted for the disk rather than the download, then yes (check your order if you're unsure). It can take a few days - but if it's longer than two weeks raise a query though the order process.

Log into your account at the Microsoft Store and you will see your download options. If you chose to download you will not be getting a dvd. You select Download or Ship It when you first select the item to buy.

Thanks guys!! I do remember filling out "ship to" information but I did not have a printer hooked up to my PC, so I could not print the confirmation page. I did not receive a confirmation email from MS so I started to worry. Thanks again and I hope to have good news soon!!
