off topic Deselecting the file extension when single-clicking a file name RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hi,

I've looked for weeks on google for how to do this, but I'm not sure exactly how to word my search query.

    I'm using Windows XP Professional.

I'm looking for a tweak, tool or add-on that will deselect the . (dot) and the file extension of a file name when I single-click the file name to change it.  In other words, when I single-click the file name, only the actual name of the file will be highlighted for changing.  The . (dot) and the file extension will remain unselected.

    Thanks for your help!
