CRM 2011 c360 Customer Portal RRS feed

  • Question

  • Does anyone have any suggestions for customer portals?  We ahve tried the c360 product and apparently they have performance issues with IFDs.  Since that is how we use our system it seems this will not work for us.  We have only a few basic requirements.  We want a portal that we can provide clients with logins that will allow them to enter and view their service cases.

    Thanks

  • The free accelerator that Chris mentions can be found here and the content management / customer authentication aspects of administering the portal are controlled within CRM2011 as part of the included solution.

The portal is a separate website which you must host or deploy in the cloud (Azure), it isn't part of the crm application website, no portals are.

Be aware, any portal solution that you roll out to customers will need to have an external connector license (I'm assuming you're not using CRMOnline?). Take a look at this for further information on the subject.

  • Thanks for the suggestion Chris but at $4,000, this is a bit more than we have budgeted for this project.  Do you know of any cheaper solutions.  I have take a look at the free portal accelerators that you mentioned and did not see anything in regards to running them in CRM 2011.  Do they work for 2011?  If so, are the meant to be used or just proof-of-concept?
