Just to further explain the issue,
The Software/key of the Windows 7 only works in PCs that came Pre-installed with it from a Large Manufacturer. However, as Noel points out, your PC was manufactured before Windows 7 was released so could not have come with Windows 7 pre-installed.
The sticker on the PC will tell you what version of Windows originally came pre-installed on that PC. With that information, you can contact the PC's Manufacturer to obtain a replacement Windows Recovery software that will allow you to install the version of Windows that Originally came on that PC.
