Windows Live One Care Back Up & Windows Vista RRS feed

  • Question

  • Everytime I try to back up using Windows Live One Care the system tells me that my disc is either not good or too full even though I am using a new disc.  As a result, I end up using the back up system available on my PC.

This is the message I get:

Not enough free space to prepare your files for backup.  Free at least 4.2 GB of space on drives C:\ and then click next or

click cancel to exit the wizard.

What can I do about this?

  • OneCare needs to prepare the backup on the C: drive (or system drive) before copying the image to the backup destination, which I assume is a DVD in your case. The message you are getting indicates that your C: drive is low on available space. In order to use OneCare backup, you'll need to free up space as the message states.

Are you also getting other errors or is it consistently that message?
