is one care backing up my external drive also? RRS feed

  • Question

  •

I have an HP running Vista Premium, with two external drives, one (500gb) used solely for backup, and another (250gb)  to store music and media files I may want to take with me form time to time.

My question:  Is my onecare backup backing up the media storage drive as well as the internal HD of the computer?  I see no place in onecare where I can tell it whihc drives to back up, only which drive to back it up to.  The vista backup however I believe give me the options of whihc drives and folders to backup???  Is that correct?  I would prefere to use teh one care backup, but only if it is truly backing my stuff up.

    thanks

  • If you media storage drive is like the one I have, it slides into a dock on the PC. In Windows this is a removable drive - USB, actually. OneCare does not backup from any removable drives. It will only back up files from the internal drives and you cannot add the removable drives as a source to backup from.
