Setting up of CRM Dynamics enviornment for development purpose RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are in the process of setting up a CRM Dynamics development enviornment. There will be an offshore team(in India) and onsite team(in UK), both working simultaneously.

We need to confirm which of the following scenarios are feasible:

    1. We have seperate CRM Dynamics servers for onsite and offshore teams. It will have separate ADs.

    2. We have a CRM Dynamics server only at onsite or offshore.

Please give details which scenario is possible and what are the advantages and disadvantages in both cases?

  • Hi,

The link Mahender provided will provide more details about setting up environements.

If you implement seperate servers that will provide you lot of flexibility, and it will avoids steping over on customizations implemented by other team. Only draw back it will have is you have to implete a integration process to integrate all the customizations implemented on both these servers on to a single server and frequently refreshing the development environments with the latest integration. We are using virtual environments like each developer will have his own sandbox and reqularly say for every sprint we are integrating the code/customization (from each sandbox) on to a single DEV envrionment. Which provided us the flexibility of working on CRM independently with out steping over each others customizations. Since we were using virtual environements all CRM servers have same setup (hardware & software).
