Why does my Domain not come up in the results? RRS feed

    This is a relatively simple question.

     

    Why is my site indexed, but my domain not able to be searched in MSN?  No I am not blocked, my domain rank in MSN tools is the highest with all bars filled as well as page rank, but I can't find my own domain when I search in MSN as well as any normal search terms.  My website is gone, but of course google and yahoo work fine. Smile

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I submitted a "complaint" you might say, to our relevancy team regarding your domain name specific search (searching for mirror polish finishing). This doesn't create a ticket, but it has helped in the past. Congratulations on the rest! I know this has been an irritant for some time...

    Live Search has three of your pages in the index.  I could not find it in a search for "mirrorfinishpolishing".

     

    My guess would be that you are being penalized, perhaps for some of the seo techniques you are using.

     

    One practice that I personally object to is that you on your home page, you have virtually spammed links to the home page.

     

    For examples:

     

    Your list of 10 bulleted terms toward the top of the page - 6 of these are links to the home page itself, which we are already on. (Not to mention two others in the heading for the bullets.)  Why do this?  It is misleading to the website visitor, and looks like it was written to get achor text links to your own website.

     

    In the remaining text of the page you have no less than 24 text links to the home page.  These are all anchored by text that you think are keywords.  Again, why do this?  It is misleading to the visitor - speaking as a consumer, it really irritates me.

     

    Maybe these questionable practices are getting you penalized.

    Thanks for the input, but I am not looking for a critic...just someone to actually tell me exactly why my domain is not even searchable when my site IS indexed by MSN.  I would more look into what you were saying if my site was not even indexed by MSN, but it IS indexed by MSN and the doman is still not searchable!!!!!

     

    BTW...for the amount of visitors I get I make plenty of sales per visitor count if you know what I mean, so that tells me people that truly need my services and are really ready to buy don't care about a link to my homepage on my website. LOL Smile

     

    My site has been like this for a long time, keyword searchable, domain searchable of course, etc, etc and was just fine before and then all of a sudden the domain is not even searchable...I haven't changed anything.  It is not blocked, or anything like that per MSN webtools as well as the domain score and page rank being ranked high.

     

    Of course Yahoo and Google are perfect and consistent like always. Smile

    Here is a little more info:

     

    I do a keyword search in MSN tools of say Metal Polishing Services...guess what come back?  Thats right my homepage with a VERY high score.  I do a keyword search in MSN tools for Aluminum Polishing Services and guess what I get?  Thats right my homepage comes back yet again with a VERY high score.  I do a keyword search of metal polishing and the same thing happens, do a keyword search of guaranteed metal polishing and the same thing happens...VERY high score in MSN tools.

     

    Even though all of these search terms are ranked VERY high in MSN tools they don't come up withink 500 links in a real MSN search.

     

    My site is indexed in MSN, not blocked, used to come up just fine in MSN search and with absolutely no changes to my website MSN not only won't find these keywords that MSN tools states is a good search on my site, but it won't even find my own domain in a MSN search and my domain is even indexed in MSN!!!!

    1.  Now if I search for this in MSN I am number one:

     

    guaranteed polishing mirrorfinishpolishing.com

     

     

     

    2.  If I search for this in MSN I am number one:

     

    polishing mirrorfinishpolishing.com

     

     

     

    3.  If I search for this I am non-existent:

     

    guaranteed polishing http://www.mirrorfinishpolishing.com

     

     

    4.  If I search for this I am number one which would be normal I would think for anyone:

     

    site:www.mirrorfinishpolishing.com

     

     

     

    5.  THIS IS THE ONE I AM REALLY CONCERNED ABOUT....If I search for this I am non-existent:

     

    www.mirrorfinishpolishing.com

     

     

     

     

    Anybody know why the above would ever happen?

    WOW...very Interesting...I was playing around with MSN and now www.mirrorfinishpolishing.com searches number one like it should...I am getting pretty excited now.  Right after it started working though MSN search went down about 30 seconds after that, so I hope it keeps working and remains stable.

    FWIW - If I search for your full domain name today in MS LIVE search - I can't see your site in the first 50 results!!

     

    I've just tried the same search for some of my sites.

    I can (usually) find the site by keywords but if I type the complete www.mysites.co.uk address I only find others sites references! Sad

    Thanks for the input.  My domain comes up for me now no matter what computer I use so far.  I can even use my cell internet and it finds my site when searching for my domain as well. Smile

     

    Let me know if my site comes up in your search results if you search for these keywords:  guaranteed buffing services kansas city, mo

     

    When I search for the above I come up #1 now...before I was non-existent.

     

    I wonder why your site is not searchable by domain name?  Are you in MSN's index at all yet?

    Hi,

    I'm in the UK and your site still doesn't show up when I search for the full domain - I guess we are looking at different data centres? I wonder who's working with the 'new' data/algo?

     

    If I search using the keywords you gave I can't see your site in the first 200 results.

    Using the site: command you have 3 pages listed.

    Yes, my sites are in the Live index but some are behaving like your domain is for me...

     

    Glad you're seeing improvements where you are - but keep an eye on it!

    I just wanted to give some feedback on this issue and my search results are still going strong ever since you did whatever you did...they are coming up just like they used to and I am very happy now.
