Windows 7 Home 64-bit showing not genuine

Question
-
since a recent windows 7 update (possible 6/12/2012 update); my Windows 7 Home 64-bit started showing that my windows was not genuine. I have re-activated multiple times (manually re-entering my product key and by phone - each time windows showing it was successfully activated) neither appear to have cleared the issue. I have run the Microsoft Genuine Diagnostics Tool and have attached the output below. I had recently replaced my hard drive with a solid state drive.

That error combination is a first!
0x800703E6 is a bad memory access -
I suspect that you may have RAM problems, or malware.
Are you running any 'RAM Cleaner/Optimiser' type programs?
Have you been using a Registry Cleaner?
First, downlaod MemTest86+ from www.memtest.org - create either the boot disk from the ISO, or the bootable USB stick, and boot to it. Run it for a couple of hours, (at least 5 passes) and see if it reports any errors.
If it does, then you have a hardware problem to address before doing anything else, otherwise....
When was the last time you scanned you whole system with up-to-date Anti-Virus, and Anti-Malware scanners?
Please download and install Malwarebytes Anti-malware (free version) www.malwarebytes.org and update it, and run a full scan (DO NOT enable the Real-Time protection option!) in your main account, and Quick scans in any other user accounts.
Delete everything it finds.
If it finds anything significant, post back with details and a new MGADiag report before proceeding.
If not, then we'll start with the standard disk-checks....
Please run a full CHKDSK and SFC scan....
type in the Search box
CMD.EXE
right-click on the only file that is found
Select Run as Administrator
- the Elevated Command Prompt window should pop up
At the Command prompt, type
CHKDSK C: /R
and hit the Enter key.
You will be told that the drive is locked,
and the CHKDSK will run at he next boot - hit the Y key, and then reboot.
The chkdsk will take a few hours depending on the size
of the drive, so be patient! After the CHKDSK has run, Windows should boot normally
(possibly after a second auto-reboot) - then run the SFCSFC -System File Checker - Instructions
Click on the Start button
type in the Search box
CMD.EXE
right-click on the only file that is foundSelect Run as Administrator
- the Elevated Command Prompt window should pop up
At the Command prompt, typeSFC /SCANNOW
and hit the Enter key
Wait for the scan to finish - make a note of any error messages - and then reboot.
Post an MGADiag report with details of any error messages encountered.Noel Paton | Nil Carborundum Illegitemi | CrashFixPC | The Three-toed Sloth

Noel,
I believe I first started having problems in May when the 5/8 update failed which resulted me having to restore my system from a previous backed image - I then by-passed the 5/8 update. When I tried to reapply the update, I noticed the the .NET 3.5.1 update killed Windows Media Center and Orb application. I wa snot able to back out the update so again, I had to restore to a previous backed up image. End of May I replaced replaced my hard drive with a SSD. This issue first started happening after the Jun windows update which I have yet to back out.
1) MemTest86+ was ran for a little over 4 hours - no errors were detected/noted.
2) Malwarebytes Anti-malware full scan was performed - no errors were detected/noted.
3) CHKDSK was performed - no errors were detected/noted.
4) Updated windows
5) SFC /SCANNOW was ran with results shown below.

(Sorry for the belated response!)
I suspect that the problem lies with the sppc.dll.mui file, or the SysWOW64 copy - let's see.
please run the following commands in an Elevated Command Prompt -
DIR C:\sppc.dll /SDIR C:\sppc.dll.mui /S ICACLS C:\windows\system32\sppc.dll ICACLS C:\Windows\SysWOW64\sppc.dll ICACLS C:\Windows\en-US\sppc.dll.mui ICACLS C:\Windows\SysWOW64\en-US\sppc.dll.mui
copy and paste the responses to your reply.
Here are some instructions to make life easier :)
1) To open an Elevated Command Prompt Window (the CP window), click on Start, All Programs, Accessories – then right-click on Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator. Accept the UAC prompt.
2) To run the commands easier, highlight the block of commands, and right-click on the highlight – select Copy. In the CP Windows, click on the black/white icon at top left – select Paste. The commands will run but may not complete the last command, so hit the Enter Key once.
3) To copy the results... click on the Black/White icon in the top left, and select Edit... 'Select All', and hit the Enter key - then use Ctrl+V or r-click+Paste to paste it into your response.Noel Paton | Nil Carborundum Illegitemi | CrashFixPC | The Three-toed Sloth

It's possible that this problem is affecting updates - the file involved is used for compliance-checking othr files.
All the above looks normal - please run the following commands from an elevated command prompt.
SFC /SCANFILE=C:\Windows\System32\sppc.dll SFC /SCANFILE=C:\Windows\System32\en-US\sppc.dll.mui SFC /SCANFILE=C:\Windows\SysWOW64\sppc.dll SFC /SCANFILE=C:\Windows\SysWOW64\en-US\sppc.dll.mui
copy and paste the results - and upload your CBS.log file to your SkyDrive or other favoured fileshare service (you will need to copy the file to the desktop first, then upload the copy)
post a link in your reply.

You've logged in here - which means that you almost certainly have a SkyDrive account :)
The problem seems to lie with the SysWOW64 copy of sppc.dll
Without the detail from the CBS.log file I don't know which version of the file is the problem, or how properly to fix it, so I *really* need the file to be able to proceed.
Please run the following command and post the results...
DIR C:\sppc.* /s
It may tell us the source of the problem another way.

You have a fairly long list of failed repairs in the CBS log. :(
I suggest running the CheckSUR tool to see if it can fix them - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821 - please upload the CheckSUR.log and CheckSUR.persist.log files when complete.
....and a new MGADiag report, please

I downloaded and ran the CheckSUR tool and uploaded the requested files to https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=b95c08f9e8de243d&Bsrc=Share&Bpub=SDX.SkyDrive&resid=B95C08F9E8DE243D!108&id=B95C08F9E8DE243D%21108; however, when I attempt to rerun the MGADiag tool, I get a 'Failed to create output files, hr = 0x80070002. Please contact support.' I rebooted my PC but still get the same error MGAdia tool error.Wednesday, July 18, 2012 7:32 PM
-
Please try MGADiag again - ignore the error message, it will still paste to your reply.

The error is still the same - CheckSUR managed to fix most of the problems, but there's still a three major ones to go....
winsxs\manifests\x86_microsoft-windows-i..ersandsecurityzones_31bf3856ad364e35_9.4.8112.16441_none_cd4d1ac1f12074aa.manifest winsxs\manifests\amd64_microsoft-windows-ie-htmlrendering_31bf3856ad364e35_9.4.8112.16441_none_87cbb105f4dd75a9.manifest winsxs\manifests\x86_microsoft-windows-ie-extcompat_31bf3856ad364e35_9.4.8112.16441_none_5519aee8f0f08f71.manifest
are all missing still
I've put all three files into a zip file (missingmanifests.zip) on my SKyDrive here...
https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=b95c08f9e8de243d#cid=936736BB8FCEB92F&id=936736BB8FCEB92F%21115
please download it and save it to your desktop - extract the contents using a right-click and accept the defaults ( this will crete a new folder on the desktop)
Now open an Elevated Command prompt window.
Copy and paste these commands into it
TAKEOWN /F C:\WINDOWS\WINSXS\MANIFESTS ICACLS C:\WINDOWS\WINSXS\MANIFESTS /grant Everyone:(F) COPY %userprofile%\desktop\missingmanifests\*.* C:\windows\winsxs\manifests ICACLS C:\Windows\Winsxs\Manifests /remove Everyone
If you get a request to replace a file, answer 'N' and hit the Enter key.
Copy and paste the results to your reply - if you got no error messages then run SFC /SCANNOW from the command prompt, and reboot when it's complete, then run the CheckSUR tool again, and post the new CheckSUR.log file (with crossed fingers!) and a new MGADiag report.
I'll be snoring by then, hopefully - I'll look at the reports first thing

OK - looks like permissions on the desktop file are incorrect somehow.
run the following commands
ICACLS %userprofile%\desktop\missingmanifests\*.* /grant Administrators:(F)
then try the deletions (my last post) and then the replacements (the one before)

Noel,
I have my original Windows 7 retail disk but my pc has been subsequently update to sp1 ... am i able to do the repair install?
Friday, July 20, 2012 11:09 PM -
Sure - but you'll have to download the correct updated SP1 ISO file and burn the disk (at your slowest possible speed)
The links to the proper downloads are here... http://www.heidoc.net/joomla/technology-science/microsoft

There's still a minor error with validation - which should be cleared if you validate at www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate
Other than that, everything looks fine now.
You'll need to re-install all the Windows Updates again. The re-arm count is something that ou don't need to worry about - it's the number of times you can reset the 'grace period' before Windows sulks and tells you that you have to buy a license or lose access to the system :)
.NET updates are the bane of everybody's lives :( I've given up on two XP machines, trying to get 3.5 updating properly. Luckily I've not had many problems with Vista or Win7.
You should post about that problem in the Windows Answers forums here..... http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_update - there are some experts there who can generally work miracles :)

Noel, again, much thanks for all your help. Looks like I now have everything running smoothly on my Windows system including the .NET Framework 4 updates failing issue.Sunday, July 22, 2012 2:14 AM
