Setup an d install using iExpress RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm attempting to install 2 .NET Framework applications.  Using iExpress technology (see http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/ie/ieak/techinfo/deploy/60/en/iexpress.mspx?mfr=true) I was able to take 2 .msi files along with a batch file (runmefirst.bat) that installs the two .msi files.

    The contents of the .bat file is this:

    @ECHO OFF

    REM ****************************************************************
    echo.
    ECHO Installing App 1...
    start /wait app1.msi
    REM *******************************************

    REM ****************************************************************
    echo.
    ECHO Installing App2...
    start /wait app2.msi
    REM *******************************************

    If I have iExpress simply extract the files to a folder of the user's choice and the user runs the .bat file, all works perfectly.  If I have the iExpress technology run the specified .bat file, upon installation the user sees a console (black) window (indicating that the .bat file has started) with an extremely quick "Bad file or command name" or something, then the console window goes away and nothing gets installed.  I have verified this so many times, checked and quadruple checked to make sure the files exist, etc.

    Is there anything that anyone can see that I'm doing wrong?
