Caller ID fail RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have Windows XP and Linux on my PC. I installed a larger hard drive. Caller ID (with Talking Caller ID) worked great with the old hard drive. When I reinstalled my Windows and Kubuntu on the new drive windows fails to get Caller ID information. The modem, (Zoom V.92/V.90 fax, data, vaice mail, caller Id compatable 3025) worked in Windows with the old drive. It is also working in Linux at this time. I have tried several different Caller ID programs and two different modemd that I know worked previously. Could something have been lost when I reinstalled Windows? Can I reinstall/repair it without redoing all my other window installs. Adobe, HP, Paint shop etc? I did make sure the string (AT+VCID=1) was in the properties/advanced/extra commands. The hyperterminal will also ring but not bring up a name/number. I do have caller ID in the house and on dish network and other phones. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank You
