  • Atanabe,

Right now, your Sony computer has a Volume Licensing edition of XP Pro installed (Line 10), and that installation was done with a now-blocked Volume Licensing Key (VLK) (Line 2).  VLKs are blocked by Microsoft at the request of the original keyholder for such reasons as the key was lost, stolen, compromised, misused, or expired.  Also, MS may have blocked the key if it notices a pattern of misuse, ie, more installations of XP using that key than authorized.

As a rule, VL editions of XP should not be sold to individual consumers.  Businesses, schools and gov'ts normally use VL editions for flexibility in installing many computers.  Also, Volume Licensing editons of XP are Upgrade licenses only and cannot be legitimatey used as the original or base license for a computer.

This is why you were seeing the "software counterfeiting" messages on your computer, because the current installation of XP is an unauthorized installation.

Also, please note that the mgadiag utility is identifying your installation of Office 2003 Pro as being Nongenuine because it, too, was installed with a Blocked Volume Licensing Key (Office Status:  114 means nongenuine).  If this comes as a surprise to you, please return to the place of purchase and demand either genuine Office software or a refund.  In any case, please uninstall the nongenuine Office 2003 Pro installation from your computer.

Luckily, the solution to your problem is simple but laborious.  Use the recovery solution supplied by Sony to replace the nongenuine installation of XP Pro with the genuine original installation of XP, which as indicated on the CoA is XP Home.  You verified this by looking on the Certificate of Authenticity to see which edition of XP came with the computer.  Be sure to back up and offload your data before you do this because typically the recovery process destroys all data on the hard disk.

If you do not have the Recovery CD supplied by Sony, you can order Recovery CDs for many Sony models directly from Sony for a reasonably modest fee.  Start at the dedicated support page for your exact model at sony.com.  If they cannot help you, try http://www.restoredisks.com

Good Luck and post back to tell us how you are doing!

  • From this diagnostic it seems as if your product key has been blocked by Microsoft due to one of the following reasons.
1.Either the no. of license has exceeded. Volume license key is obtained by a company so as to install windows on certain no. of computers. if they install it on more than that limit microsoft blocks that product key.
2.License time limit has expired. Volume license comes with a time limit, seems that time period has expired

Now you have only one solution cal microsoft on 1-800-microsoft and ask them to provide you with a WGA kit they will ship you a new disk and a new product key.......

Moreover it has nothing to do with adobe........ (as you have mentioned in the end)

    Hope it helps !!!!!!!!!!!
