MGA validation failure for Office XP

Question

Hello, MGA reports that my version of Office XP has not been activated even though it has been activated for a few years now.
My Windows XP validated without a hitch.
I ran the diagnostics below, and just hope you can shed some light
Thanks

Hello,
Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Office Genuine Advantage (OGA) program forum. Your issue is related to Windows Product Activation. In an attempt to assist I would like to provide some information which may or may not help.
From the Desktop:
1.
Click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then Activate Windows.
Or, click the Windows Activation icon in the taskbar notification area next to the clock.2.
Click Yes, I want to telephone a customer service representative to activate Windows now.
3.
Click Read the Windows Product Activation Privacy Statement, click Back, and then click Next.
4.
Follow the steps in the “Activate Windows by phone” dialog box, and then click Next.
Note The number appears now and differs based on the location that you select.5.
When activation is completed and you receive the following message:
You have successfully activated your copy of Windows
Then click OK.
Also you may reference the following site for various Telephone Activation Centers:

Thank you,
Stephen

Hi Stephen
Thanks for your attempt to help. I followed your steps trying to get the "activate windows" to pop up on my screen, but neither worked.
The was no "activate windows" in my system tools drop down and clicking on the icon next to my clock only told me that my windows wasn't validated.
I also tried opening one of the office products but it only took me to the validation page i had previously been to with the status bar icon.
I didn't get the activation wizard that walk you through the steps required to activate Office.
Unsure what next to do
Cheers

Antman68,
Did you open the KB article I provided and attempt to call the activation center directly and speak to a representative?
Thank you,
Stephen

Hello Antman68,
Lately we have been visited by many customers reporting the same thing as you have: on a longtime activated and validated installation of Genuine Office XP, all of a sudden OGA validation tells you that Office XP is not activated, but Office XP thinks it is.So far, a very effective, quick, and easy-to-do solution has been to follow Method 2 in this MS KB article: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/903275/en-us
Please do so and post back to let us know if it worked for you.
