  • Question

  •

Is there anybody on this planet that can tell me why my new pc can not install the windows updates?

Everytime I speak to Microsoft they just want to charge me £29.99?

Rubbish, seeing as I have just bought this new state of the art pc..............that does not install the updates.

    Can anybody help?

  • Hello Mickjen,

The Microsoft Update Solution Center can be found here: http://support.microsoft.com/ph/6527

The Windows Update (No Cost) support can be found here: http://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?gprid=6527

    Thank you,

  • If it is really a new computer the support is provided by the manufacturer, ie, Dell, HP, IBM, Gateway, etc. All you need to do is contact them for support. If you 'upgraded" the os and bought a full version copy from  a retailer then Microsoft offers 2 free incidents without charge, you need the key. If the upgrade is an oem version that you bought on line or computer show then you are out of luck.

I have had ALL of the above scenarios and this is how i dealt with this problem: Paid the $30 for the support, if it worked ok, if it did not got a refund. SAM

With Vista, Full and Upgrade (Retail versions) provide 30 days of free support, starting from the time Vista is first activated.
