another WHS developers forum? RRS feed

  • Question

  • A year or so ago this developer and add-in forum seemed to have a lot more traffic, especially before it got moved.  It's had 15 new threads in the past 25 days. That seems kinda low compared to the past.

Have people moved onto another WHS developers forum somewhere, and if so, where?  Or is there just a lot less add-in development interest for WHS, and that has resulted in the lower traffic?  Or perhaps a comabination of both?

  • Off the top of my head, no, I don't know of other development-specific, WHS-specific forums. It's possible that they exist, though. You could try a few searches...

  • WGS has a dev-specific forum: http://forum.wegotserved.com/index.php?showforum=22

Still not tons of traffic. I don't think there are a large number of add-in developers out there yet :)

  • I may be off subject,, I read a entry you made several days ago, about odd directories appearing and not knowing how they got there.  Have not been able to find that article again.
Recently I notice I had two odd-ball directories ( PC_joey & PC-jerry)  I can't remove them, cant get access to them in any way.   I think my problem may have been "wireless".  I have turned it off, but can't figure how to get rid of these two directories. any suggestion?   For info, I have 4 computers on my network, Hp 475 server, upgraded to 1g mem, 2 500g HD, 2 1T HD. I run Win xp Pro on all computers.  You seemed to disappove of FTP,   I have another problem along that line.   I run 4 web site for a couple of school reunion groups and a Home Owner Assoc.   I would like to keep all my back up HTM files on the server, so that any computer can access them to update ( with HOTDOG software , no Problem) but I can't find any FTP software that will allow me to upload from the HPserver without having to copy the files to one of the other computers.  I DO NOT want to run a FTP server.  Any tips will be appreciated.

  • Kromecat, could you post a separate thread with your question? It's not applicable to this thread. Thanks!
