Family security settings? Feature request or status update... RRS feed

  • Question

  •

I thought the Live Family Safety beta (http://get.live.com/betas/familysafety_betas) would be included in OneCare, because the beta appears to be dead -- the blog for the site hasn't been added to since December 06.

Any chance this is an included feature in OC 2.0? Anyone know if it's on the roadmap, or still in development? (I know, I know: still in beta/coming real soon now...).

  • There's been no word on if this functionality will ever be added to OneCare or integrated with OneCare, but it has just been updated. (Not the blog, the Family Safety beta...)

http://get.live.com/WL/all for the Windows Live unified installer. Once you download the whole installer (under 2 megs) you can then select to *only* install the Family Safety product.

  • You're welcome. I'll be needing to install and test that this weekend on the PC that I've been using for the previous builds. Enjoy. And I agree it would be a nice addition to the OneCare PC version - incorporate an option to add the Family Safety software/service and/or provide an interface to the Vista parental controls functionality.
