Hello,
Phone activating sounds like it would solve your issue. You can open a command prompt and enter
slui 4
Then go through the prompts. Let me know how this works out, please. Thank you!

You may be prompted to activate Windows Vista on a computer on which Windows Vista activation was not previously required: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;931573Monday, February 12, 2007 4:19 AMModerator

Carey, thanks for the reply...it seems as if I am in a pickle. I can not download the update, because it also says my VISTA is not geniune. Do you know the toll free number to activate over the phone? I tried to find if on my PC, but it's not there anymore.
Thanks again,
Greg

Hey, can anyone help with a similar issue. I updated my DG965WH bios and can't validate either. I only installed on 2-13 and then updated the bios a while later. I'm not sure if I even validated prior to that Is updating my bios after the install my porblem with vaidating?? I've got a message in to Geuine Advantage so maybe they can help me.
I tried the slui 4 and it brings up the Licensing error box.
Stan.

Please post the results of the WGA diagnostics tool (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012). That'll help me understand your problem a little better.
