Dell 8250 desktop w/XP. Some of my programs do not work. When first turned on, "could'nt load resourse file" came up. Also, in something like AOL, I cannot type anything in that program, like email. I can type in documents or word pad or things like that. Just recently I attempted to reload XP from Dell supplied disc that came with this unit. Informed, by the disc, that the version on my computer was more recent than the disc' version and to restart and boot to load the disc if I wanted to load from it. After F12 (boot) I cannot figure out what to do next. The info from F2 (setup) or F12 doesn't tell this newbe enough to know how to reload XP.
Also, is it necessary to delete the XP program before reinstall? I searched the program file (control panel) and was not sure how to delete the current version.
Help!
