Changed disk size, WHS backup stopped working

Question
-
Some days ago I expanded one of my partitions with Partition Magic. On reboot my system run a checkdisk on the drive, but didn't find any errors. Unfortunately now my WHS can't backup this partition any more. The error log on my Win 7 x64 Ultimate machine says "Volume {226c0503-1400-11df-a464-806e6f6e6963} is not present on client". When I try to reconfigure my backup settings using WHS console, I always get a "Computer is not online or WHS cannot access the computers hard drive" (I hope my translation is correct).
I guess that changing the partition size did change the drive id. My second guess is that WHS console is buggy while checking the configuration. It seems that WHS doesn't do a proper system check. It relays on stored information or it fails when something did change.
From what I've read the problem is well known. One possible solution was mentioned here , but I don't want to loose my backups. Recently my system changed a lot, moving from Win 7RC to Win 7 Ultimate, new software versions etc. If I'll encounter some trouble, I want to be able to restore my data.
1) What can I do to force WHS to rescan my config?
2) Is it possible to change the drive id to match the id stored in the backup settings?
I hope MS will address this problem soon. The current state of WHS backup is not reliable and fault-tolerant. When I try to reconfigure a backup, there should always be a complete system scan. And removing or changing a drive should not kill the backup service.
Any help is really appreciated.

When you change your disk configuration, you need to reconfigure backups. You will choose to back up the "new" drive, and to not back up the "missing" drive.

Thanks for your answer. Unfortunately I'm not able to change my configuration (see my description above). While trying to reconfigure my backup, I always get an "Computer is not online or WHS cannot access the computers hard drive". I guess WHS doesn't do a proper re-scan. It seems that backup is relaying on stored information for previous used drives. It fails when some part of the configuration did change.
If you are unable to re-configure the backups, the only option left is to delete that computer from the Console (which automatically deletes all associated backups), run the backup cleanup, and start a fresh set of backups for it.

When I look at the backup details, there's an error message "The volume {SOME ID HERE} is missing".
Is it possible to simply change this id to match the drives current one or to change the volume id of the drive?
I can't believe that I will loose my backup set because my disk id changed. This is really a serious bug of WHS! An unreliable backup is a complete waste of time, space and money. It seems that I can't trust WHS backup any more.
Microsoft, come on, fix this bug immediately!
