  • Question

  • suggestion for listing serial numbers of drives so that if you have a stack of drives and want to update their size you know which one to remove from your pc

i have six attatched to the main mb and these have no serial numbers and i have three in a internal caddy attached to a serial port controller board and these show serial numbers which makes it a lot easy to upgrade

  • If the drive controller or driver don't pass the serial number along to the operating system, there's nothing Microsoft can do. That's why some drive controllers show serial numbers for attached drives, and some don't.

However, product suggestions are always welcome on Connect (which is where Microsoft asks that they be submitted :) ).

I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
