Keep shared session running if client exits RRS feed

  • Question

  • For our application, we would like to use shared sessions and the SOA model on Windows HPC Server 2008.

In the example from page 28 of the "Overview of the SOA Programming Model and Runtime Systems for Windows HPC Server 2008" the diagram and example code show a producer client that creates the shared session, and consumer clients that connect and use the session.

Is it possible for the producer client to create the session and then exit, leaving the session running on the HPC Server compute nodes?

Or do we need to leave the producer client running at all times the shared session is running?

    Thanks!

  • Hi Derek,

There must be one active client that's connecting with the HPC server. So the producer client may exit as long as  where are consumer clients that connect and use the session
