Font size in SeaMonkey browser RRS feed

  • Question

  • The displayed font size in the main forum display (and elsewhere) is not correctly set in the SeaMonkey Browser (aka Mozilla suite). At the default (100%) font setting, it is too small. This does not happen in the Firefox browser.

The underlying rendering engines in FireFox and SeaMonkey are identical, and display glitches in the SeaMonkey browser are normally due to incorrect browser sniffing. Applications should test for the Gecko rendering engine rather than the Firefox browser, or preferably be written in an way that does not require sniffing.

  • Hi David-

As noted in our FAQ, the following browsers are supported at this time.

Which browsers and operating systems are supported by Forums?
The browsers and operating systems that are supported by Forums are:
    • Windows Vista with Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox
    • Windows XP with service pack 2 (SP2) with Internet Explorer 7, Internet Explorer 6, and Firefox
    • Windows 2003 R2 with Internet Explorer 7, Internet Explorer 6, and Firefox
Others may work, but some features may not function as expected.

I will log this feedback for the product team and will report back if there is a change in current browsers that are supported.

    Thanks-

    Thanks for the reply.

I understand that SeaMonkey is not currently an officially sanctioned browser (and I knew that). But the fact is that the rendering engines of SeaMonkey and FireFox are identical.

[Apart from this font issue, the forums seem to work fine in SeaMonkey.]
