Clarify MS Press book required for 70-623 MCITP certification RRS feed

    Hi,

    I am considering doing the MCITP 70-623 certification. I have bought the Microsoft Press recommended text book MCITP Self paced training (70-623) :Supporting and troubleshooting apps on a win vista client for consumer support technicians. A[[erently this is all I need, but I am not sure.

    In the text book it is not clear if it covers the pre requesite exam 70-620. According to the MS Prep Guide they only refer to this text book but it is not clear to me whether I need to now purchase the text book for 70-620, do that exam first and then start studying the 70-623 text.

    Can someone please clarify this?

    No this book does not cover exam 70-620. If you need to take that one too, it'd be a good idea to check out one of our books, e-learning, or instructor-led classes specifically addressing that exam.

    Hi Ken

    thanks for your responce. I will have to look into purchasing the other book for the 70-620 exam. According to the MS Learning website the 70-620 is a pre requisite exam which gives you a MCTS arrceditation. I noticed you wrote "if you need to take that one too", I assume you must take that exam before you can do the 60-623 exam. Is that correct?

    Correct you will need to take 70-620 in addition to 70-623 (However the order in which you take the exams is irrelevant) for the MCITP Certification. I think what Ken was trying to say was simply if you needed the additional reading material for 70-620 you would need to obtain a separate book. Good luck on the exams...
