One Care did an automatic update this morning to a new version. When it was finished, my computer was unrecognizable. My desktop was completely cleared with a different background, my browsers were all at new release condition and my launch bar was gone. When I try to go to One Care customer Support I get an expired security certificate notice, so I can get no help there. I did a system restore to my shutdown condition from last night and everything is back to normal. What happened?

OneCare has not been updated in many, many months, so I'm not sure what you've encountered. Windows Updates were last week, but it is possible that you were just given a Windows Automatic Update. If you are getting an expired Security Certificate, that would typically be due your PC clock being incorrect. What I think happened, is that your Profile in Windows was locked, causing Windows to load a default profile. Since the date/time issue also occurred, it is likely that you are experiencing a hardware problem, completely unrelated to OneCare. The System Restore resolved it because your PC was rebooted. Had you rebooted without doing a system restore, it is possible that all would have been well again with Windows (except perhaps the date/time problem). So, at this point, I recommend that you first check the PC date and time - right click the clock in the system tray and select adjust date and time. Then, perform a disk error check on your hard drive. Open Windows Explorer and right click on the drive, select properties/tools/error-checking.
