Windows Live 2011? Please Help.

  WLE: Windows Live E

  Ok, So I hate windows 8 and Love windows 7. Now I got Windows Essesitials 2011 for my computer because I liked the theme and layout. To be honest, I hate the windows 8 "Metro Interface." So thats why I got the 2011 version. I went on Windows Live Messenger and to my suprise, It says I have to update to use it. Now, I tried that, But it keeps bringing me to the Microsoft Skype website which I dont want skype. Is there a way to get an update to WLE that will look the same or to keep WLE and be able to log in?
