    I've recently tried to download Microsoft Security Essentials on my desktop. After going through all of the steps, I ended up at a page that said this: Validate Your Copy of Windows    Windows did not pass genuine validation. You may be a victim of counterfeiting. To complete installation of Security Essentials, click Go online and resolve now and get genuine Windows. 

    I did just that and was prompted to this site: http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate/?displaylang=en&PartnerID=258  where I saved the file WgaPluginInstaller.exe. I opened it as it told me to as well as following steps to install the plug-in. The installation of Windows Genuine Advantage started, I clicked next, and I got this message:

    Installation failure.

    Installation failure. Failed to copy files. [Error: 0x80070003]

    What does this mean? How do I get my computer to"copy files"? Is there any way for me to successfully get Microsoft Security Essentials?

    MGA Diagnostic Report Required:

    To properly analyze and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the diagnostic report produced by the MGADiag tool (download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )

    Once downloaded, run the tool.

    Click on the Continue button, after a short time, the Continue button will change to a Copy button.

    Click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your post.
