how does email router work

    Question

  • had a user create an email activity and send.  got the message "This message has not yet been submitted for delivery"

user does not have Outlook Client yet was set up for in & out as Outlook Client.  So I changed the setting to email router for outbound.  A little while later nothing had happened.  Tried making a new email activity; nothing happened.

The router is working fine in general.  But when does it pickup and do its job in this situation?  When will a user switched from Outlook Client to router see an email depart?

  • Hi Mardukes,

Have you configured your user in the email router so that they have an inbound and outbound profile? A user or queue must be configured within the email router as well as being set in CRM to use the router for inbound/outbound mail.

There's lots of information on the workings of the email router in the CRM 4.0 implementation guide that you can download here
