Your installation of Windows is from a Recovery Disk for a Dell Computer.
You computer appears to be based on a Retail motherboard, not a Dell.
You need to use the Key from a legitimate Windows 7 package to make the system genuine
If your Key on your pack agrees with the one above, you have a counterfeit copy of Windows and should try claiming a refund from the vendor.
If it does not agree, then use the Change Product Key link on the System Properties page to change the key - and then activate it.

  • Thank you for your help and quick reply.

I used another computer (which was a Dell) to create the recovery disc since my computer would not start.

Got my computer running from the recovery disc using the bootrec.exe.

My computer is a custom build from an independent retailer.  I do not have a physical copy of Windows 7.  Do I need to contact them to get my Product Key as I cannot find it anywhere in the computer information that was passed along to me.?

  • It should be on a sticker affixed to the back of your desktop.  It not, then you have a problem because the custom builder is not likly have it either.
