  • Since mike man un-necessarily edited his Diagnostic Report, I am unable to check the Product key to see if it is invalid or not. However, the fact that the Notification Reason shows "0xC004F009 (grace time expired)" it suggests that the issue is due to Windows being unactivated.

I recommend re-activating (by Phone) Windows to resolve the issue.

To re-activate by phone, Click the Start button, and type: slui 4 in the search field and then press the "Enter" key. This will bring up the Activate by Phone dialog window. Follow the steps provided by the window. The phone activation process should only take about 6 minutes.

If this does not work, I recommend following Cbarnhorst's advice and contacting the program admin at your school for instructions

    Thank you,

  • You need to contact the program admin at your school for instructions.  You are using a volume license product key which is now invalid.

  • Between copy and paste, do you mind telling me where I edited the Diagnostic report?

  • Windows Product Key: *****-*****-*****-*****-B3YQ2

The report always generates a line like this

  • Guys,

To satisfy my curiosity I ran the report on my windows 7 enterprise (mak)

My report listed the key as above. Only the last 4 characters are shown.  Certainly different to what is normally seen.

To mike man, The solutions from Colin and Darin still apply.
