I've been through all the threads.
Relatively new WHS installation.
One XP machine (it is a Virtual PC) gets the following in event viewer
Windows Home Server protocol mismatch. This computer uses protocol version 6.0.3436.0, but partner computer **** uses protocol version 6.0.2423.0. A connection cannot be established.
So it looks like the XP machine has a newer driver ??
2 other XP machines work fine, one Win 7 works fine.
All machines are patched current (No SP 1 on Win 7, all other patches applied).
I only installed the connector from the server, tried both the web //server:55000 and the share per the instructions.
Even uninstall and reboot then reinstall.
Any ideas ??
PS Msft there are several copies of the connector .MSI on the WHS, all appear to be identical, but WHY ???
Not sure if this helps you or not, but the most current version of the connector software that I have has the following file sizes in the folder: \\SERVER\Software\Home Server Connector Software\
Size: 86.8 MB (91,099,318 bytes)
Size on Disk: 87.0 MB (91,230,208 bytes)

On the Resources section of the Home Server Console I have the following version numbers:
Windows Home Server Console: 6.0.2423.0
Windows Home Server Backup & Restore: 6.0.2423.0
Windows Home Server Drive Extender: 6.0.2423.0
Windows Home Server Remote Access: 6.0.3436.0
Windows Home Server Storage Manager: 6.0.3039.0
Also if I look in the folder: C:\Program Files\Windows Home Server\ and look at some of the executables, they are version: 6.0.3436.0, and all files are dated 10/01/2011
