  Currently there is no method other than posting in one of other member's threads.

  Yes, that's the only method currently. Post in one of member's threads and hope they see and respond.

  If you click on a person's name/handle in a Forum thread, their MSDN profile will be displayed (in a new tab/window). In their profile, they may have included links to their Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn accounts. If so, that information could be used to contact the person.

  In addition, some people have blogs, and post a link to their blog in their signature (such as I do) or in their MSDN profile. Some people have links in their blog profiles for a contact email. That's another way to contact the person, it it's available.
