external to internal voice call failing thru edge RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi I have just replace a customers r1 setup with r2. I am having problems getting an external moc users connecting to an internal desktop user for voice call. The internal end point rings but when the phone is answered the moc client says connecting and then the call is dropped. When I run a trace on the edge server I see the following error "sip/2.0 481 call leg/transaction does not exist". There is no firewall on outside of edge only on inside. I dont see anything been blocked on the firewall. The strange thing is calls are been connected for one user. The moc client versions are the same.
    Any ideas please?

  • Is the sip domain the same for both users?
It could be a certificate issue on the A/V Auth service

  • Hi Deli,
I discovered it was a routing problem. I needed to add a static route on pc to allow it be able to access the inside address on edge server. the call then succeded
Do all pc's need to be able to connect to the edge server directly for a call setup between an external user and internal user to be connected?

  • Yes the A/V EDGE server takes care of proxying the calls between external and internal users

  •  Thanks Deli,
So when the call connects the LAN client is connecting directly to the edge server and not the ocs server on the lan?
Is it then a peer to peer connection between the external user and internal user with the av edge server inbetween?

  • That is correct
Also when user are both internal they just connect peer to peer (not via OCS Server)
unless there are more than 2 participants then peer to peer changes to conference via A/V Conferencing server
