dumpedie output script RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I'm trying to find a script to manipulate the output of the dumpedid report. I just want certain fields to be exported to a xls or text file.

  • then don't use the dumpedid tool.

wmi query the objects you want and record them. txt/csv will be easier. xlsx will require around 8-12 lines of extra code.

  • DumpEDID.exe | findstr /i "field1 field2 field3 field4" > output.txt

Add or replace the "field#" strings to whatever field-name you like

The result will be saved into output.txt

  • Extract monitor EDID to objects

    $edittxt = D:\Tools\DumpEDID.exe
    $keep = 'Active|Supported Display Modes|ManufacturerID|Serial Number' $monitor1 = ($edittxt | %{$_ -replace ':','='}) |?{$_ -match $keep} | select -first 4 | ConvertFrom-StringData $monitor2 = ($edittxt | %{$_ -replace ':','='}) |?{$_ -match $keep} | select -first 4 -Skip 4 | ConvertFrom-StringData

Set the field list ($keep) to the fields you want and adjust "-first 4" and "-skip 4" to number of fields you are asking for.

You can also check the length to determine the number of monitors.

    PS D:\scripts> $monitor2.'Active'
    Yes
    PS D:\scripts> $monitor2.'ManufacturerID'
    58633 (0xE509)
    PS D:\scripts>
