Remove unbusy jobs RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Is there a way to detect and kill jobs which are stucked? Sometimes we have jobs, which hangs and do not have any CPU load anymore. These jobs never finish and block the claimed resources, until they are killed manually. Is there something like a garbage collector to removes jobs, which are unbusy for a certain time?

  • Hi Sven,

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by jobs which are stuck. If you mean, "how can I automatically clean up jobs which have tasks which will never finish?", then you can do this by setting the maximum runtime for such jobs. That is, if you expect the job to take no more than 5 minutes, and you set the maximum job runtime to, say, 10 minutes, then the job will be automatically canceled if it runs more than 10 minutes. Does that answer your question?
