System Checks - Login Failed RRS feed

  • I am installing Dynamics CRM 2011 on an SBS 2008. I did setup SQL on the same server. For both installations I am logged in as '[name]\networkadmin' whereas networkadmin is the administrative account that was created during the instalation of SBS 2008. Now when I install Dynamics CRM at the System Check I get the error

    Microsoft SQL Server
       Login failed for user '[name]\networkadmin'

    I don't see a place where I can define which account to use to log into SQL, i.e. it seems to take the current account I am logged into. However, during SQL installation I could not chose the current accont for the SQL services so I had to create a new administrative account. It seems to me that what dynamics CRM needs is the SQL service account (of which there are several). So how do I get this to work? Also should I use mixed mode for SQL?

  • When installing CRM, the installation program will use the current logged-in account to connect to SQL Server, so you have to ensure this account has rights to login to SQL Server, and also the System Administrator server role in SQL Server.

    CRM always uses Windows authentication when accessing SQL, so there is no need to enable mixed-mode authentication for SQL
