Dear Kaleena, I have the same issue as you on my pavilion laptop. Were you able to resolve the issue, and if so how? Short of reformatting the hard drive and restoring it back to its factory settings I've done most of the things that were recommended to you, with not much success. thanks for any help in advance.

Dear Steve Holm,After about three days of almost non stop using a recovery manager built into my laptop, I was able to recover to a functioning all around laptop. I now can access the internet, wired and wireless, I've got my control panel back, and basically am a happy camper, for now. I ran the genuine advantage diag. tool and here are those results...And yes I was able to Validate my copy of Windows. Thanks In advance.Diagnostic Report (1.7.0095.0):-----------------------------------------WGA Data-->Validation Status: GenuineValidation Code: 0Online Validation Code: 0x0Cached Validation Code: 0x0Windows Product Key: *****-*****Windows Product Key Hash: U8YEZzymoD4DMyaMb32rPrNIS90=Windows Product ID: 89583-OEM-7332157-00061Windows Product ID Type: 2Windows License Type: OEM SLPWindows OS version: 6.0.6001.2.00010300.1.0.003CSVLK Server: N/ACSVLK PID: N/AID: {E8CE6E06-13A5-42C2-ACA3-7139E80C57EF}(3)Is Admin: YesTestCab: 0x0WGA Version: Registered, 1.7.69.2Signed By: MicrosoftProduct Name: Windows Vista (TM) Home PremiumArchitecture: 0x00000009Build lab: 6001.vistasp1_gdr.080425-1930TTS Error:Validation Diagnostic:Resolution Status: N/AWgaER Data-->ThreatID(s): N/A, hr = 0x80070002Version: N/A, hr = 0x80070002WGA Notifications Data-->Cached Result: N/A, hr = 0x80070002File Exists: NoVersion: N/A, hr = 0x80070002WgaTray.exe Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x80070002WgaLogon.dll Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x80070002OGA Notifications Data-->Cached Result: N/A, hr = 0x80070002Version: N/A, hr = 0x80070002WGATray.exe Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x80070002OGAAddin.dll Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x80070002OGA Data-->Office Status: 102Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 - 100 GenuineOGA Version: N/A, 0x80070002Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x80070002Office Diagnostics: 77F760FE-153-80070002_7E90FEE8-175-80070002_025D1FF3-282-80041010_025D1FF3-170-80041010_025D1FF3-171-1_025D1FF3-434-80040154_025D1FF3-178-80040154_025D1FF3-179-2_025D1FF3-185-80070002_025D1FF3-199-3_B4D0AA8B-920-80070057Browser Data-->Proxy settings: N/AUser Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Win32)Default Browser: C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.exeDownload signed ActiveX controls: PromptDownload unsigned ActiveX controls: DisabledRun ActiveX controls and plug-ins: AllowedInitialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe: DisabledAllow scripting of Internet Explorer Webbrowser control: DisabledActive scripting: AllowedScript ActiveX controls marked as safe for scripting: AllowedFile Scan Data-->Other data-->Office Details: <GenuineResults><MachineData><UGUID>{E8CE6E06-13A5-42C2-ACA3-7139E80C57EF}</UGUID><Version>1.7.0095.0</Version><OS>6.0.6001.2.00010300.1.0.003</OS><Architecture>x64</Architecture><PKey>*****-*****-*****-*****-WQD8Q</PKey><PID>89583-OEM-7332157-00061</PID><PIDType>2</PIDType><SID>S-1-5-21-165366898-237519925-3252458943</SID><SYSTEM><Manufacturer>Hewlett-Packard</Manufacturer><Model>HP Pavilion dv5 Notebook PC</Model></SYSTEM><BIOS><Manufacturer>Hewlett-Packard</Manufacturer><Version>F.08</Version><SMBIOSVersion major="2" minor="4"/><Date>20080723000000.000000+000</Date></BIOS><HWID>82313507018400F6</HWID><UserLCID>0409</UserLCID><SystemLCID>0409</SystemLCID><TimeZone>Mountain Standard Time(GMT-07:00)</TimeZone><iJoin>0</iJoin><SBID><stat>3</stat><msppid></msppid><name></name><model></model></SBID><OEM><OEMID>HPQOEM</OEMID><OEMTableID>SLIC-MPC</OEMTableID></OEM><BRT/></MachineData><Software><Office><Result>102</Result><Products><Product GUID="{91120000-002F-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE}"><LegitResult>100</LegitResult><Name>Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007</Name><Ver>12</Ver><PidType>19</PidType></Product></Products><Applications><App Id="16" Version="12" Result="100"/><App Id="18" Version="12" Result="100"/><App Id="1B" Version="12" Result="100"/><App Id="A1" Version="12" Result="100"/></Applications></Office></Software></GenuineResults>Spsys.log Content: 0x80070002

Hello Bobin,
In order to receive the best support, we request all users to initially run the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool. This will try and identify the individual issue you may be experiencing. Please provide a brief synopsis describing your customer scenario, including any dialogue, error messages, or codes. These can be found in the lower left hand corner of most Genuine Advantage Web pages when an error is encountered.
By clicking the link below, you will download the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool. Then click the Run button. Then click the Run button again. Then click the Continue button to perform the diagnostic. The Windows tab should show, click the Copy button to paste your report to the clipboard. Then paste the report into a New Post on this Forum by adding a post in it and pressing Ctrl V (to paste the text). Clicking the OK button will clear the Diagnostic window. Here is the download link:
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012
Step 2: Tell us about the Certificate of Authenticity (COA) for your copy of Windows.
1. What edition/version of Windows Vista is titled?
· Home Basic
· Home Premium
· Business
· Ultimate
2. Does it read "OEM Software" or "OEM Product" in black lettering?
3. Or, does it have the computer manufacturer's name in black lettering?
4. Please provide the customer scenario you are experiencing.
5. DO NOT post the Product Key.
Not sure what to look for, see this page to reference your COA:
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/howtotell/en/coa.mspx
NOTE: The data collected with the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool does NOT contain any information that can personally identify you. The information can be fully reviewed, by you, before being posted.
Thank you for your participation here on the Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) program forums. We look forward to working with you.
Thank you,
Stephen Holm, MS
