MS CRM 4.0 outlook client configuration problem. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have an issue in the MS Dynamics CRM outlook client configuration:

I installed the crm outlook client ( without offline access) and the setup was successfully done.

When I run the configuration wizard: I've chosen the  option :  "My company" . Then I enter the complete URL of CRM server along with orgname as "http://CRMServerName:portnumber/orgname"

and this error message appears on the screen :

"Mandatory updates for Microsoft Dynamics CRM could not be applied successfully. Try running the application again"

When I remove the orgname from my URL i.e "http:CRMServerName:portnumber/" I get a different error : "the remote name could not be resolved "CRMServerName" ".

But I can access both the URLs (with and without orgname in the URL) through by browser, no problems at all.

IE settings are set to "use automatic configuration". Even though I set the proxy to a static address, I get the same error message.

I'm trying to install the outlook client on Office 2010.
    .net Framework version : 4.0
    IE Version : 8.0

I precise that I have already read this post : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/953890 and I've tried the third solution but it doesn't work.

I read many posts regarding this error, but none of the hepled my situation.
Someone has any clue or an idea to solve my problem ?

    -Thanks
    Srinath

  • what rollup do you have installed? have you tried applying the latest CRM client rollup?

also do you have any internal security software installed on this machine? maybe look at disabling it while trying to run the configuration wizard?
