Genuine Windows Validation not working RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I'm having a problem with running "Genuine Windows Validation".
I went to download some Microsoft software and was asked to validate my windows.
Knowing that my windows 7 in genuine I continued and ran the download, But when downloaded and ran this message appeared:

This version of the Windows Genuine Advantage validation tool is no longer supported. Please download the newest version and ensure that your system clock is accurate.

This keeps happening every time I try. My system clock is accurate to UK time (Maybe not to the second, but does that matter?) and i'm assuming microsoft would have given me the latest version?

    Help would be appreciated :)

  • Go back to the original download page using Internet Explorer (32-bit) - MS seem to have broken the ActiveX capability in other browsers, and the GenuineCheck file now has an outdated certificate so the OS will not run it.

  • I only have 64 bit, how do I get 32?

  • Internet Explorer 32-bit is the default - you should find it in the Start > All Programs listing, or here...

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe

  • Please start a NEW thread of your own, and post an MGADiag report.

To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool
(download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
     Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.
      - **in your own thread**, please

Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!

No - I do not work for Microsoft, or any of its contractors.
