How do i change my 32 Bit Product Key to a 64 Bit Product Key RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a 64 Bit machine with the Eval copy installed and its great.

i ordered a full version from newegg and i did not notice that i ordered the 32bit version.

How can i get a 64 bit product key without having to return this copy (OEM - so they may not take it back anyways)

i called the Microsoft tech support and they wanted 80.00 for me to talk to a service rep with no guarantees of being able to help me.

Im sure people upgrade systems from 32 to 64 all the time and need an updated product key - should be pretty straight forward.

Any help would be great. Thanks

  • There's no 64 bit version of Windows Home Server, only 32 bit. So you don't need to return what you have. As for upgrading from the eval to the full version, take a look at this FAQ . YOu'll need to follow the directions you find there.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
