MSN Messenger not functioning

    Question

  • I have recently been hit with some viruses. Not sure if this problem is a result of them or not.

When I try to open messenger, i get the following pop up:

    C:/programfiles\windowslive\messenger

    msnmsgr.exe bad image

MSIM32.dll is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.

-> how do I fix this? I'm running Windows Vista, on an HP Pavilion dv2000 laptop. Not sure how to check what service pack.

    Help Please!!
