Connecting laptop to 2 different WHS systems RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I've got 2 homes each with a WHS system. I have a laptop which travels with me and I would like to set it up so that it automatically connects to the WHS at either location. At the moment when I change location I have to run the connector software again. To try to help matters I have given both networks the same name and disbaled DHCP so that the laptop has the same IP at both locations but it hasn't helped. What do I ned to do ?

    Thanks

  • Searching the forums for connect to two servers, I see there are several useful results, such as this one. But to summarize: you can't configure a PC to automatically connect to two different servers. You can manually switch from server to server by reinstalling the connector or by running C:\Program Files\Windows Home Server\discovery.exe.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
